Purpose:
The goal of the program is to provide an opportunity for trauma fellows or final-year FEMECOT residents to increase their clinical contact with complex trauma patients at Level I/II Trauma Centers through a program lasting between 4 to 8 weeks.
Duration and Schedule:
The rotation will last between 4 to 8 weeks. Once contact with the host hospital is established, they will determine the start date with the candidate. The candidate will contact them directly to finalize details (the OTA Orthopaedic Trauma Association office is available to assist).
The expenses will be solely the responsibility of the candidate.
Requirements:
- Must be a FEMECOT resident
- The candidate must be in the final year of their residency or currently in a fellowship program.
- Must have an interest in trauma surgery
- Certificate demonstrating English proficiency
- Video interview with FEMECOT
- Video interview with OTA/TRAUMA ROTATION PROGRAM
The host hospitals handle a minimum of 20 cases per week, weekly conferences, preoperative planning, indications, complication management, and perioperative care. The goal is to fully involve the fellow, with the majority of participation being observational, as most institutions do not allow fellows to scrub in for surgery.
Registration deadline: February 10.
Send the application to the email comitecientifico@femecot.com.
